Safety Academy - Skills for advanced alpine routes

Our comprehensive training course will provide you with the tools you need to succeed safely in an alpine environment. Careful planning and preparation are essential for quickly identifying and avoiding alpine risks. We place particular emphasis on the selection and safe use of your equipment, including important knot techniques to help you in a wide range of situations. Our experienced mountain guides will not only teach you how to safely use a rope, ice axe and crampons, but also how to walk and orient yourself safely and independently on glaciers.

Course Objectives
- Imparting basic knowledge and skills of glacier, ice and mountain tours
- Safe walking with crampons (walking in balance and front-pointing)
- Self-larresttechniques Roping up for glacier travel and
- Teaching crevasse rescue techniques
Course Requirements
- Basic knowledge or courses in mountaineering
- Safe footing on the approach area and very good fitness for 4-6 hour climbing routes approaches
- Knowledge of knotting techniques is an advantage, but not mandatory
