PRODUCT LIFE CYCLE
Slower. Longer. Circular.
The journey towards a circular economy relies heavily on two key pillars: durability and reuse. We want our products to be used as long as possible – ensured by quality, design, repairability and care. We want them to be shared, leased, repaired and reused. Moving forward, we also aim at turning old products into new ones – without compromising quality.
Our vision
We are focusing on slow down the product cycle - with the vision in mind to close the product cycle entirely.
Status Quo:
We have joined the Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) in 2015, a non-profit organisation that campaigns for the global improvement of working conditions in the textile industry. We hold the Leader Status in the area of social responsibility.
Over 24,000 workers are employed in our partner factories. Around 80% of them are women.
Status Quo
SLOWER.
The most sustainable product is the one we use the longest. Durability is key – and this involves everything from design to materials to production. And all of this is in our hands, we can shape and define it all.
LONGER.
We support you in caring for, maintaining and repairing your products. Check out our Care, Repair and Reuse sections where you can see how much you can do to help your product live a long and happy life.
CIRCULAR.
The vision is to close the loop entirely one day. We are working on it across all areas, but it is difficult since our products are often highly complex in terms of materials and manufacturing priocesses.

Challenge
We can actively slow down the cycle of our products through durability, repairability, care, service – and our 2nd Life Shop. Yet the big challenge is to close the loop entirely. Our products are highly complex in composition and construction in order to meet functionality demands. We are addressing the issue on both ends: looking into the use of textile-to-textile recycled materials for our products and engaging with recycling providers and research projects to tackle the end-of-life of our products. It will be a long journey to finally close the loop for our products specifically, but we are on it!

Recycled Material
Our vision is to stay within the textile loop – using recycled materials that actually come from textiles, not from PET bottles. Textile-2-Textile is the key that is currently being explored and researched. Wherever we can, we use recycled textile materials.

Recycling our own products
Unfortunately, we’re not yet able to recycle our own products directly. One of the reasons is that efficient recycling becomes tricky when different materials are combined to get the best performance. What we need are scalable technologies and a solid system that turns old products into high-quality new ones.
