Whether on stormy ascents or in heavy snowfall on a summit – the 3L ORTLER PANTS for men is our lightweight for true alpinists!
For the MERINO NAKED SHEEP line we’ve concentrated on the essentials: Low weight, optimum protection and ample comfort. These hardshell pants are lightweight and technically sophisticated, yet robust and comfortable. The DERMIZAX® NX membrane from Toray – the most high-performance membrane that we use – ensures the jacket is windproof, waterproof and breathable. For protection on demanding tours, these shorts feature integrated, adjustable gaiters and Cordura protection against sharp edges. Adjustable ankle cuffs and an adjustable waistband allow for an easy fit, while merino-mix inserts in the waistband area provide comfort. Thanks to full-length 2-way side zippers, these 3-layer pants can be quickly put on or taken off.
The 3L ORTLER PANTS: For alpinists who want clothing that is 100% reliable during high alpine tours when it’s snowing and icy.

I purchased the 3L ORTLER Deep Shell Pant, along with the matching jacket in Petrol Blue. It was very expensive but I was happy to pay that for a high quality touring kit. The comfort and functionality are excellent, but the seam at the crotch came apart after just a few days of ski touring. A friend of mine who purchased the same pants had the same issue with the seam breaking at the crouch. In contrast, my similar pants from Arc'teryx have lasted seven seasons and are still going strong.

Sladjan K.

I was looking for a lightweight pair of hardshell pants for long distance hiking in winter. These are awesome! I had tried ordering a few other pairs of Ortovox hardshell pants but their sizing is a little weird. I'm 6'1 and roughly 170lbs with an athletic build and the large/regular fits me perfectly. I love how lightweight these are and how many uses you can use them for. The dynnmea gaiters are great too!

I love the Ortler jacket and pant. I have had them for a few seasons now, and it has been bomb proof. I have used it touring in the back country, doing laps up the resort, and various hut trips. The Ortler is fantastic at all of these. I highly recommend both the jacket and pant.
