Swiss virgin wool meets Tasmanian lightness: The WESTALPEN Swisswool HYBRID high-alpine touring jacket for men features a unique combination of Swisswool insulation material and MERINO FLEECE GRID with Tasmanian merino wool on the inside.
The 60 g/m² Swisswool lining is used anywhere where additional protection and warmth is required. Sustainable Swiss virgin wool has been packed in an elastic, breathable and wind-resistant Swisswool TEC-STRETCH material. MERINO FLEECE GRID has been integrated into this hybrid jacket to complement the lightweight lining and elastic outer material: fleece material provides a great deal of freedom of movement, is comfortable on the skin and boasts good heat retention properties thanks to its channel structure. Tasmanian merino wool on the inside also regulates moisture and temperature levels, is soft on the skin and is naturally odor-neutralizing. A combination of Swisswool at the chin and FLEECE GRID MATERIAL at the neck provides optimum climate control. A backpack-compatible breast pocket provides room for storing trail bars, cell phone or map.

Our sustainable MERINO WOOL comes from monitored, ethical sheep farms. It is comfortably soft, easy to care for, and provides an optimum body climate thanks to its moisture- and temperature-regulating properties.
We have been using Swisswool– wool fibers from Switzerland – as insulation material since 2011. A sustainable wool of regional origin, it warms superbly even when wet, is easy to care for and offers a perfect microclimate.

I used it as a mid-layer for several days skiing in bounds in Utah. I was very happy with how warm it kept me on the chairlift. It is very thin, so it allows for an excellent range of motion. We were well below zero with wind chill, and I was expecting to need to add a down layer. Also, it works well after skiing when it's 20 degrees and up. It's good-looking and doesn't cook you when it gets warmer. It's very well constructed.

Absolutely fantastic piece of clothing! Used mostly for cross country skiing, but also for running, hiking and in everyday life. The location of insulation/wind protection is perfect - covers what it should, but nothing more, which offers a lot of "breathing". If there was a cycling-specific version of this jacket (back pockets, cut for road bike position) it would be the best jacket, no doubt about it.

I love this jacket. Whether I'm using it as amid layer under my guardian ski shell, under my 3L Westalpin light shell, or as an outer layer, its a fantastic jacket.. This is a fantastic jacket...so much so I own two of them.
