COMFORT IN THE MOUNTAINS
Robust, functional insulated jacket for ski tours and high alpine tours
Highlights
- Lightweight with a small pack size
- Highly breathable
- Ideal weight-to-insulation ratio
With the WESTALPEN Swisswool JACKET for men, you’ll be perfectly prepared for stormy surprises in high alpine terrain.
This warm, lightweight, insulated jacket is wind- and water-resistant and particularly scuff-resistant thanks to PERTEX QUANTUM material. A Swisswool inner lining provides comfortable insulation, with weights of 60 g/m2 and 90 g/m2 in different areas of the body to ensure the right temperature.
The storm hood, high-cut collar, pre-adjusted cuffs and adjustable waist will keep out the wind and the cold, while the longer cut of the sleeves and torso ensures optimum freedom of movement, even when you have to stretch your arms up over your head. Small items that have to be reached quickly can be stored in the spacious front pockets and inner breast pocket. With its small pack size, the WESTALPEN Swisswool JACKET for men is an ideal companion in high alpine terrain, because no matter how windy and stormy it gets outside, it will always keep you comfortable in the mountains.
Please take special care when washing this product.

Sustainable PERTEX® QUANTUM material is made of recycled polyamide, and its tight weave makes it extremely windproof and abrasion resistant yet comfortably soft. It is also particularly lightweight with a small pack size.
PERTEX® DIAMOND FUSE material is made up of unique diamond shaped filaments that lock together to create a particularly durable, highly abrasion-resistant fabric. Water simply rolls off of the material’s smooth surface.
We have been using Swisswool– wool fibers from Switzerland – as insulation material since 2011. A sustainable wool of regional origin, it warms superbly even when wet, is easy to care for and offers a perfect microclimate.

I decided to buy this jacket to compliment my Piz Boe as the temperature has been dropping in the high country. I found myself wanting a little more warmth in the chest when wading in lakes for several hours in windy, overcast, and cold conditions. This piece gets the job done and is easy to pack for the 6-8 km hike up to lakes. I really like the fit, fabric hand, inner/outer fabrics, and overall weight. 2 days ago, I saw a storm rolling in while hiking at 3000m. I had to hunker down at the base of a cluster of trees, throw on my Westalpen and a rain shell, and wait out the storm. My GPS device indicated that the windchill was -5 C and my hands and face sure felt cold. However, my core was super warm and I was comfortable waiting 40 mins for the storm to pass while being pelting with snow, hail, and rain. Thank you for this bomber gear. Sincerely, Der Alpenfischer

Habe die Jacke als isolierschicht unter der hard Shell Jacke. Hält bei minus 10 Grad schön warm.
